The Shosholoza Meyl "Tourism" to Johannesburg has already climbed over 700 metres since leaving Cape Town and is seen here glinting in the late afternoon sun as it crosses the arid Karoo region northeast of Laingsburg. Class 6E's E1167 & E1189 are in charge of the 13-car train. Bringing up the rear is a motor car carrier, giving passengers the option of taking their car along with them on the journey. |
